Humanitas University

Humanitas University (HU) in Milan is a truly unique institution, a university founded and developed by a hospital, with its campus and student housing located directly on the hospital grounds. All instructors are highly qualified professionals who also work as doctors and nurses at the hospital itself.

As a student at Humanitas University, you will experience what it is like to study at a leading medical institution, gaining direct contact with physicians, researchers, and healthcare staff involved in several cutting-edge research projects.

Prestigious University

Students at Humanitas University have the opportunity to learn from internationally renowned professors and researchers, as well as from guest lecturers who occasionally include Nobel Prize winners and world-famous scientists. In addition, HU continues to expand its strong network of collaborations with visiting scholars and educational institutions abroad.

Through a hands-on, active learning approach in small study groups, you will develop critical thinking and a solution-oriented mindset that will serve you well throughout your medical career. This approach is combined with the clinical portion of the program, which is led by an innovative and dynamic teaching system characterized by strong faculty involvement.

The Campus

The campus consists of three main complexes surrounded by a 25,000 m² green area and accommodates 1,200 students from 31 countries around the world. Facilities include a 2,000 m² simulation laboratory, one of the largest and most technologically advanced in Europe, as well as state-of-the-art classrooms and a digital library. Just steps away from the research laboratories led by Professor Mantovani and the hospital itself is the integrated teaching center, where future doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists receive their training. In 2018, the university also opened its on-campus residence, offering accommodation for 240 students.

International students

In total, approximately 1,200 students study at Humanitas University. Of these, 150 places are reserved for international students, with 100 specifically designated for EU students. The majority of students come from Italy and the United States.
